The Dead Sea

A touch of Magic One of the world’s geological wonders. Located about 400 meters (1,312 ft) below sea level, it is the lowest point on Earth. The Dead Sea is one of the most saline lakes in the world (average salinity 345g/l of salt per liter of water compared with the ocean 35g/l). Having no outlet, the Dead Sea is a terminal lake which loses huge amounts of water by evaporation into the hot dry air, leaving some of the salts in certain conditions to accumulate in the lake. Rapid evaporation causes an extremely heavy accumulation of salts and minerals, that results in a high concentrations of salts in a unique composition that is particularly rich in Chloride salts of Magnesium, Natrium, Potassium, Calcium, Bromine and a relatively high concentrations of trace elements. The salt content is higher than any other in the world.
